Mullumbimby – Getting here

Mullumbimby is located approximately 10 minutes from the Pacific Highway and 20 minutes from Byron Bay, one of Australia’s most popular beach attractions. Despite Mullums convenient location once you get here the mellow vibe of the small country town will make you feel miles away.

Plane

The Ballina and Coolangatta airports are both located approximately 45mins from Mullumbimby and are serviced by all major airlines (Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Blue ). Both airports have rental car desks and shuttle services to Mullumbimby. The Brisbane Internation Airport is the closest international airport, located approximatly 2hrs drive from Mullumbimby. Brisbane International has rental car desks and a shuttle service to Byron Bay that take about 3hours.

Bus

Due to Mullumbimby’s close proximity to Byron Bay getting to the area by bus is a convenient and affordable option. Greyhound provides services from all over Australia and smaller companies run services predominantly from Sydney and Brisbane.

Car

Mullumbimby is situated 7km off the Pacific Highway, 156km south of Brisbane and 45km north of Ballina. From the Pacific Hwy take the Mullumbimby exit and follow the road for 3km. Then turn left at the big pelican totem pole and Uncle Tom's Pie factory and continue along Mullumbimby Road until you cross the railroad tracks. You are now in Mullum, the biggest little town in Australia!

Train

The train service to Mullumbimby is no longer in operation however Countrylink runs a connecting bus service from the Casino railway station.

Getting Around

The Northern Rivers Shire is a magical location filled with must see and must do attractions. There are plenty of ways to get around so make sure that you leave some time during your retreat to explore the area.

Blanch’s Bus Routes
The 640 operates from River Tce in Mullumbimby which is located a close 1min walk from the Mullum Sari Natural Health Centre. Refer to Service Map for other service locations.

Brunswick Valley Bus Routes
The 645 operates from the Mullum Newsagency on the corner of Burringbar and Stuart Street which is located across the road from the Mullum Sari Fitness Centre. Refer to Service Map for other service locations.

Kirklands Bus Routes
The 610/611 operates from Stuart Street which is located 1 min walk from the Mullum Sari Fitness centre. Refer to Service Map for other service locations.

Bike/Walk

Mullum Sari is located in the heart of Mullumbimby with close proximity to shops, restaurants and parks. The flat landscapes and bike conscious community make Mullum a bike and pedestrian friendly town.

Exploring the wider region outside of Mullum by bike is also possible for confident riders. There are a range of bike tracks in the area which make exploring and being active an enjoyable activity. Mullum Sari will provide you with an electric bike during your stay so we encourage you to have a break from the car and travel by bike.
